I just recently traveled to one of my favorite little getaways – Lake Tahoe – for a beautiful fall micro wedding on the lake. Except, we had the most unexpected lil surprise….snow! What was supposed to be a gorgeous October wedding on Lake Tahoe turned into an incredible unexpected Winter Wonderland wedding! I loved it! The couple knew a week ahead of time going into it that there was a good chance of some colder temps and rainy weather so they had clear umbrellas ready for their guests!
This magical day started with the bride and groom getting ready at their gorgeous black A-frame Airbnb on the lake. I got to take some bridal portraits of the bride and some getting ready photos with her bridal team before also checking on the groom and gathering portraits of him and his cute lil son who was standing by his father on the big day. We did a first look on the front porch of the A-frame cabin and as we did the snow started falling down as the couple saw each other for the first time. The white fluffy flakes looked absolutely stunning against the black cabin. We captured some stunning and sultry couples portraits before heading to Skylandia Park for their wedding ceremony.
Many of us traveled with an umbrella or covering as we headed into the private winter oasis for the ceremony. The tall pines were all dusted with white and the ground was already covered in snow making it truly a winter wonderland micro wedding. The ceremony was so sweet and the couple walked back down as a new family of 3. We took family and bridal party portraits immediately after because it was freezing cold! Right after we wanted to take advantage of the snow so we walked down the beach and were pleasantly surprised by the snowy conditions we stumbled upon for the bride and groom’s portraits. I was way pumped at this point because when Mother Nature greets us with beautiful conditions that are out of our control is where the most magic happens. The sun only peaked out for a few minutes while we were out there, but we did capture some incredible gloomy shots that were somber and romantic.
The couple held a small dinner reception at Jake’s On The Lake. The tables were decorated beautifully and the couple, bridal party, and close family and friends all gathered to enjoy a delicious dinner and welcome this new couple into their lives. Following dinner was time for dancing to the dreamy voice of Connor music! The couple broke out dancing, singing and having a blast the way a wedding should be! Their son too stole the show with his rad dance moves and singing skills!
The night ended with a quick ensemble change by the bride into a bridal lace two piece set and a sparkler send-off! It was an amazing day that seriously could not have gone better!
